100 Schools Holistic Development
The Design of the program to indulge volunteers, teach them the learning pedagogy, activity-based teaching method with all these inputs, train them to potentially carry out the teaching to school children of all grades. The Segments of Tutoring are,
- Learner’s Bundle 1 (Class 3- 5): Language Literacy
- Learner’s Bundle 2 (Class 6- 8): Science-based learning & Logical thinking
- Learner’s Bundle 3 (Class 9-12): Counseling & Career Guidance
The learning pedagogy is Emphasize on concepts, followed by Simulation-based learning through gamified activities, and Critical thinking– process on the real-time situations using illustrations, the outcome of this knowledge based learning is Articulated by interventions in the Schools. The course will encompass this pedagogy of learning i.e.,
Emphasize > Simulate > Critical thinking > Articulate
The Target Audience is Government School children from the grades 0 to 10. The content is considered with regard to their ability to grasp the learnings and connect to the topics in the current grade. Volunteers are an essential part of the project who grasp the learnings and deliver it to the target audience in the right manner.
Project delivering method is divided into proper learning duration including the time-line for activities & implementation of projects. With this possibility, the minimum learning duration for each individual student, for each theme is 12 hours. This includes Activity based learning and Community-level interventions.
Resources for the smooth running of the project will be 2 project coordinators who look after the overall coordination of the project, 10 cluster coordinators who will be the point of contact for Onsite volunteering teams and the management. The cluster coordinators are full time dedicated individuals who are appointed for coordinating with schools, volunteering teams and updating the project progress in a prescribed format (Tech Platform). The project will be executed to the target audience by the volunteering teams. Each school will have a dedicated volunteering group of 10 individuals, who on a regular basis, will visit the schools, conduct classes, activities and aid in conducting campaigns, awareness drives and related activities with school children.
Process of the Project
The project will begin with the Mapping of Schools for Education program. 20 Cluster coordinators with required qualifications will be recruited in the first stage. They will facilitate a detailed orientation to the coordinating volunteers. This is followed by a pre-assessment of the schools. Once the pre-assessment is carried out, a proper schedule will be chalked out and submitted to the management. After approval Volunteering teams will make the scheduled visits and carry out the sessions as per the schedule.
The Volunteering teams will update the day’s activity to cluster coordinators and, in turn cluster coordinators will update the progress on to the C2C Tech Platform. Monthly once, the cluster coordinators are bound to give a monthly report to the management and discuss upon gaps (if any), work upon the gaps as per discussion.
One unique stand-point of the project is, Schools that are performing well in the activity based learning will be subjected to orientation to develop sustainable business models e.g. Upcycling old clothes into cloth bags, basket-making, Pottery-making, Mushroom cultivation, or any locally-blooming business employing the women in the community and encouraging skill-based development in the children of the community.
The project is set to reach around 60 Schools in Bengaluru, 20 Schools which are in semi-urban places & 20 Schools that are in rural areas.
Roles & Responsibilities
Project Manager:
- Defining milestones, and Setting an appropriate schedule for the development of certain deliverables.
- Ensuring that the deliverables are delivered on time.
- Monitoring the status of projects.
- Evaluating the success of the project, and transitioning the project to the next phase.
Project Coordinator 1:
- Curate the syllabus for Sensitization, themes for Project implementation, Design plan awareness campaigns & activities for the project
- Oversee the work of 10 Cluster Coordinators
- Work on the scope of improvement in selected ‘Good performing’ schools
- Documentation monitoring
Project Coordinator 2:
- Resource persons for the project mentoring
- Data of 100 Schools & Volunteer mobilization
- Address the onsite issues and resolve (if any)
- Lead the 20 Cluster coordinators for site visit and school coordination
Training Associate:
- Project assessment
- Newsletters & Articles
- Documentation
Cluster Coordinator:
- Full-time involvement in the project
- Orientation to Volunteers on the content
- Coordinate with schools
- Schedule the Visits to Volunteering teams
- Approval formalities from regional Education dept.
- A Good rapport with the School teachers & Communities
- Derive weekly updates from volunteers
- Updating the status on the prescribed online platform on a weekly basis
- Visit schools once in 15 days to assess the effectiveness & progress of the project
- School-wise documentation of the progress in the prescribed format
- Monthly progress update to the Management
Competency Requirements
- Qualification : B.Sc. / B.E. in Environment Science and/or Experience in volunteering activities (NSS or any NGO) as a part of their academic learning, MSW, Psychology Students
- Good communication skills (Kannada & English)
Trainers:
- Orientation to 2 trainers as School Coordinators with regard to organizations involved, purpose of the project & content for sensitization and pedagogy
- Conducting of training as a team of 10 in regular intervals for a duration of 3 months
- 2 in the team are involved in Assessment part, 5 trainers in content delivery, 1 volunteer in documentation and 2 are involved in aiding project materials & completion
- A Good rapport with the School teachers & Communities
- Implementation of DIY Projects with regard to the theme

General Conditions
- Yuvaka Sangha shall develop a time-bound action plan to carry out the sessions in 100 Govt. Schools
- Yuvaka Sangha will appoint 20 fellows as ‘Cluster Coordinators’ for training, coordination, and progress updation
- 2 Project coordinators from Yuvaka Sangha will dedicatedly work on this project and 1 project manager will monitor the smooth implementation of the project in 100 Schools
- Yuvaka Sangha will bring in the required resource persons for the orientation and mentoring of the whole project
